But when Hayden’s racing team hires his beautiful ex-girlfriend, Felicia, to be their new hotshot rider, Kenzie and Hayden’s seemingly solid relationship begins to crack. I have been anxiously waiting for Furious Rush to see what happens with Kenzie and Hayden now that Felicia showed up in Book one. We pretty much start where Dangerous Rush ends. I had fallen for Hayden and was skeptical about Kenzie. But once I was able to get past the first book feelings, I feel that we reached the next level for these two. However, it was Hayden that was making all the mistakes. His heart is always has the best intentions. The lines will start to blur once the past starts to collide with the present. There was one scene that my jaw dropped to the floor. I kinda hated Hayden for a moment. That was a little hard to read. The angst and hurt stayed with me on that one for hot a minute. I see why it happened, just felt a little betrayed on Kenzie’s behalf.
New emotions come to play for me. The anger, jealousy, insecurities, and the fear. All of the emotions that these characters are going through, you ride it along with them. Just like book one, I spent a whole day reading and hoping for the best to come. All the characters are back, just from different locations. This book was hard on Kenzie as you can feel her torment and loss. She tried so hard to hold on to the race, I probably would have done the same things that she did if I was in her shoes. You never want to lose a piece of you, even for a boy.
I talk a lot about emotions not so much of the story. The story you will need to one-click this book and find out what happens. I can say that you are on a heavier emotional ride. That is why I have been a fan of S.C. Stephens all these years. She brings so much complexity to her stories that you can not help but stay tied to her books. I now The Rush series that will go along with my Thoughtless book collection. I will never let go of Kellan and now Hayden. There was a few things going on at the end that has me anxious for next book.
Don’t miss the first book in the RUSH series!
Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove. Daughter of a racing legend, she is eager to show the world that she has inherited her father’s talent in the male-dominated sport of professional motorcycle racing. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonized by her rival team’s newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Plucked from the world of illegal street racing, Hayden immediately gets under Kenzie’s skin. His insinuations that Kenzie is a spoiled princess who was handed her career fuels her desire to win, and much to her surprise, Kenzie soon learns she performs better when she’s racing against Hayden.
As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into and intense—and strictly forbidden—attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie always does her best to play by the rules, but when her team slips into a financial crisis, she has no choice but to turn to Hayden for help. The tension simmers during their secret, late-night rendezvous, but Kenzie has too much to lose to give in to her desires. Especially when she begins to doubt that Hayden has completely left his street life behind…
