I wasn’t looking for Derek Wolfe.
I wasn’t looking for anybody. All I wanted was to start a new life in America. But when I found myself stranded here with no place to go, he came to my rescue, offering me a place to stay.
He’s smart, successful, and sexy as hell—I can barely sleep knowing he’s right down the hall. And when the chemistry between us explodes one night with fierce, fiery passion, it’s hard to deny there’s something real between us.
But he does.
He says he was drunk. He says it was a one-time thing. He says he’s not into guys and what we did meant nothing.
He’s lying. Because it happened again, and again, and again. And it’s better every time.
I know we could be good together, and I want the chance to try, but I’m done hiding. If he’s not strong enough to admit the truth, I’ll have to be strong enough to walk away.

Melanie Harlow and David Romanov made this amazing M/M Romance novel called Strong Enough. I personally have not read a whole lot of M/M romance, more along the lines of MFM. This story cuts through the heart of LOVE. Living with the pressure of what we think society will not accept and end up hiding our true selves to the world and our family. This was a huge hurdle that these characters had to struggle with. With this fight ahead, it made me fall in love with love again. Love is powerful and so beautiful.
Derek knew he was missing something in life. He has the house, the job, the body, and personality of a lover mixed with caretaker. He has never felt any chemistry with the woman he has dated. So he waits for “THE ONE”. He is not getting any younger and questions if something is wrong with him. When I read this story, the only thing that was ever wrong for Derek was letting fear take over his life. Maxim enters unexpectedly in his life, and for the first time he feels alive. The battle he fights everyday when he is around Maxim is becoming harder to fight. I am rooting along the pages that Derek gives in and lets go.
Maxim is so lovable and full of life! I loved how he puts himself out there and does not care what others may think. Sure he has the ups and downs, but he refuses to live his life in the shadows. He came to America to find himself and follow his dreams. Little did he expect to fall so hard for the man of his dreams. My heart cracked a few times when I would see Maxim giving his all and only be denied what he truly deserves. He now wants a partner he can share his journey in life with. Maxim is funny, sexy, and has these eyes that you will get lost in. He loves with his all and is full of passion. I was hoping in the end her will get his happy ever after?
Melanie and David did a great job bringing us an amazing story in Strong Enough. All the emotions running through me came out more so than any other book I have read so far this year! The sexy scenes are very very hot, but very passionate. I could not stop reading them. I loved all the other characters that introduced in the story as well. These were all good people and I am sad that I have now finished the book. This book my friends is a great read! Strong Enough truly deserves a 10 start rating!
Melanie Harlow writes sexy, emotional romance about strong, stubborn characters who can’t help falling in love. She’s addicted to bacon, gin martinis, and summer reading on the screened-in porch. If she’s not buried in a book or binging on Netflix, you might find her running, putting a bun in someone’s hair, or driving to and from the dance studio. She lives outside Detroit with her husband and two daughters.
Melanie is the USA Today bestselling author of the HAPPY CRAZY LOVE series, the FRENCHED series, MAN CANDY, AFTER WE FALL, IF YOU WERE MINE, and the sexy historical SPEAK EASY duet, set in the 1920s.

For David Romanov, STRONG ENOUGH is to a great extent autobiographical. Born in Russia and raised in Europe, he landed in the United States at the age of 24, where he learned a lot about cultural differences between East and West. David firmly believes in ‘The One’ and learning through love. When he isn’t traveling or educating Melanie in Russian culture, he enjoys books and the company of his husband and dog in Los Angeles.
